The CH-47F CBT (H47 CBT) provides all-aspect signature reduction by obscuring the view into the hot engine machinery from behind the aircraft with a film cooled center body. The device is constructed in two parts. One part is mounted directly to the engine exhaust stub, while the second part mounts to the aircraft fuselage. The device has superior IR signature reduction, is light weight, and has a very low engine power penalty, minimizing the effect on aircraft mission capability.
