Davis supplies underwater extra-low frequency electromagnetic (ELFE) suppression systems (Active Shaft Grounding (ASG)), and ELFE signature management services and software.
Inlet/Exhaust Testing
We have extensive experience in the scale testing of inlet and exhaust systems. We have scale models for LM2500 components but can use the same facility for the testing of the inlet and exhaust systems for other engines.
Intake/Exhaust Systems
Davis supplies complete intake and exhaust systems for both diesel and gas turbine engines. We have experience with both vertical and horizontal water injected exhaust systems.
Plume Cooling Systems
The exhaust plume from ship stacks can adversely affect ship operation either by impinging on ship antennae – causing them to malfunction – or by compromising crew safety. Davis performs fluid dynamic analysis and testing in order to specify the required plume characteristics. We then design, scale test, and supply plume cooling systems to meet the requirements.
IR Signature Management
Davis supplies IR signature suppression systems, and IR signature management services and software for naval platforms. We design and supply IR signature suppression systems for treating both engine exhaust systems and the ship skin. We are the developer and sole commercial supplier of the NATO standard and U.S. accredited software code, ShipIR/NTCS. We also have extensive experience in managing naval platform IR signature as the design progresses from basic definition through to construction – modeling IR signature and conducting IR signature measurement.
